When Bishop's agreement wasn't renewed by the college board, his lawyers sent a letter to the board which recurring the claims about Propst's personal daily life -- including rumors of the affair having a Hoover teacher and a further college official. It went on to say that Craig had instructed Bishop to not check out these claims. That letter was received from the Birmingham News and revealed inside their July 28, 2007 version.
