| How did she feel knowing it was partly her rocky personal life that made people root for her? "I could sense the support and it felt really good," she says. "But my spirit was very upbeat so I don't think I ever asked for the sympathy vote." This is also why she isn't interested in talking about her breakup. "It was so long ago now," she says. "I've moved on and said everything I can say. It's not that I'm sitting here hurting. It's the past, and they're not part of my life." She hasn't had a boyfriend in two years because "you can't be with someone for six years and after a year be ready to put your heart on the line again. I don't do things by halves". She is ready to meet someone now but complains that she is so levelheaded it stops her from having fun. And though Dixon was writing her autobiography, she has decided to shelve it. "I went to publishing houses. Two were interested, and then I chickened out," she says. "There are certain things I don't want to talk about and I couldn't just open up and throw it onto the page.
